Why I'm Running

As a working mom, Beth knows that life has gotten too expensive for families in the Hudson Valley.

Too many are struggling to afford the rising cost of housing, groceries, and health care, while also bearing a huge, unfair tax burden. Parents fear for their kids’ safety and worry that their children won’t ever be able to afford to buy a home and raise a family in the community they grew up in.

Beth has the experience we need to tackle the affordability crisis and keep our community safe.

On the Nyack School Board, Beth worked to fund critical safety and security measures to keep schools safe, upgrade libraries, and quickly and safely reopen schools during COVID—all while passing much-needed property tax relief for seniors, veterans, and volunteer first responders hard-hit by rising costs. On the county legislature, Beth has worked across the aisle, sponsoring a household gun safety law and partnering with Republicans to cut property taxes and hire additional patrol officers to keep families safe.

Beth has always been willing to work with anyone who has a good idea to move the Hudson Valley forward.

She has a proven record of building consensus to get things done – including cutting middle-class taxes and preserving open space. She understands the importance of doing what’s right, even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.
