Rockland County Democratic Committee Endorses Beth Davidson for Congress
Davidson’s Deep Roots & Service To Rockland County Earn Her Major Party Endorsement in Pivotal Swing County
ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — In a major development in one of the nation’s most closely watched congressional races, the Rockland County Democratic Committee has officially endorsed Beth Davidson for Congress in New York’s 17th District. Davidson has already earned more than 150 endorsements across Rockland County from elected officials, Democratic party leaders, and community members.
“Beth Davidson is a tested, trusted Rockland County leader and the only candidate with the strength and experience to flip NY-17 from red to blue,” said Laurence O. Toole, Chair of the Rockland County Democratic Party. “Beth knows how to win in Rockland, the heart of this district, and she’s already delivered for Hudson Valley families as an elected representative. We’re proud to stand with her and confident she’ll deliver victory in 2026.”
Rockland County represents nearly 40% of the electorate in both the Democratic primary and the general elections, making this endorsement a key indicator of strength and momentum in the most competitive part of NY-17. The county’s endorsement of Davidson cements her position as the clear frontrunner in the race to take back NY-17 from Republican Mike Lawler.
As a current Rockland County Legislator, Davidson has won tough elections and built deep ties with the voters who will decide the outcome of this race.
“Winning Rockland means winning this district, and I couldn’t be more honored to have the support of the Rockland County Democrats,” said Beth Davidson. “This has been my home for twenty years. I’m running for Congress because our community deserves a representative who knows this district, who knows how to fight and win tough races, and who knows how to deliver for working families across the Hudson Valley. Together, we’re going to flip this seat and build a future that works for all of us.”
The Rockland County Democratic Committee endorsement adds to a wave of momentum behind Davidson’s campaign, solidifying her as the strongest, most locally rooted, and most electable Democrat in the race to defeat Lawler and help Democrats retake the House.
