Lawler Chooses Trump Over Survivors in Epstein Files Cover-Up

Nyack, NY – Today, Rockland County Legislator Beth Davidson slammed Rep. Mike Lawler for refusing to sign the bipartisan discharge petition that would force the release of the full Jeffrey Epstein files. Survivors of Epstein’s abuse stood on Capitol Hill this week demanding transparency and accountability. Davidson contrasted their courage with Lawler’s decision to follow Trump’s orders and block the disclosure.

“Mike Lawler would rather shield pedophiles than cross Donald Trump,” said Davidson. “Survivors are on Capitol Hill begging for justice and transparency, and Mike Lawler is not only refusing to sign the discharge petition, but went on national television to protect Trump from any accountability in his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein. It’s pathetic, it’s shameful, it’s corrupt, and it tells you everything you need to know about where his loyalties lie.”

The discharge petition, introduced by Republican Rep. Thomas Massie and Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna, already has over 200 signatories, including every Democrat in the House and a handful of Republicans. Just a few more signatures would force a floor vote. But Lawler has joined GOP leadership in stonewalling the effort, parroting Trump’s line that the files are a ‘distraction.’

Davidson has pledged to support the full release of the Epstein files if elected to Congress.
