Davidson’s Deep Roots & Service To Rockland County Earn Her Major Party Leadership Endorsement in Pivotal Swing County
ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — In a decisive show of support for her campaign, Rockland County Democratic elected officials & party leaders yesterday united behind and endorsed Beth Davidson for Congress in New York’s 17th District, cementing her status as the only candidate with the deep local roots, proven track record, and broad coalition to take back this pivotal seat from Republican Mike Lawler.
“I am proud to endorse Beth Davidson, alongside a united coalition of the Rockland elected officials and Democratic party leaders, because she’s not only the most qualified and experienced candidate in this race—she’s one of us, and the only one who can beat Mike Lawler,” said Laurence O. Toole, Chair of the Rockland County Democratic Party. “Beth has spent the past two decades not just living in our community, but rolling up her sleeves to strengthen our local Democratic Party. She’s helped build our infrastructure, supported dozens of campaigns, and shown up for every committee and leader who needed her. She’s earned this endorsement the hard way, by showing up, year after year.”
Rockland County represents nearly 40% of the electorate in both the Democratic primary and the general elections, making this endorsement a key indicator of strength and momentum in the most competitive part of NY-17. As a current Rockland County Legislator, Davidson has won tough elections and built deep ties with the voters who will decide the outcome of this race.
“I’m so honored to have the endorsement of Rockland County Democratic elected officials and party leaders, because winning Rockland County means we win this district,” said Beth Davidson. “This has been my home for two decades, and I’m running for Congress because our district deserves a representative who truly knows our community, and knows not just how to run and win tough campaigns in the Hudson Valley, but how to serve and govern in this district. Together, we’re going to flip this seat and build a future that works for all of us.”
The growing endorsements from Rockland County Democratic party leadership add to the unstoppable momentum behind Davidson’s campaign as the most viable Democratic challenger in one of the nation’s most closely watched congressional races.
